A DEEP DIVE INTO ZAPOTEC HERITAGE

The Zapotecs are one of Mexico’s oldest and most influential indigenous cultures, with a rich history that stretches back over 2,500 years. Originating in the Oaxaca Valley, the Zapotecs created one of Mesoamerica’s most advanced civilizations, known for their impressive cities like Monte Albán, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Their legacy endures today through their language, art, textiles, and deeply rooted traditions that continue to shape the culture of Oaxaca.
