WHAT YOU’LL DO

We meet at 8:00 AM in Macedonio Alcalá 802, Centro, Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca, ring the bell ‘’A’’, between Bicibella and Café Punto Paz.

 This fun mountain bike ride is a scenic descent of 1,700 meters (5570 feet), from the town Cuajimoloyas, in the Sierra Norte Mountains of Oaxaca, to Teotitlán del Valle (the famous picturesque textile town that is down in the valley).

Our fleet of bikes are in mint condition, and our helmets as well. Safety first!

Meet us at Oaxaca City, to begin our vehicle ride up to the mountains, where a delicious local breakfast will be waiting for us. We will then begin our 32 km (19 miles) bike ride down the mountains, overlooking awesome landscapes.

The first part of the ride goes from Cuajimoloyas to its neighbour town Benito Juarez, a 9 km (5.5 mile) stretch that includes the only 2 km (1.2 miles) ascent of the experience. If you choose to skip this up-hill, you can hop on the vehicle to bring you up to the hanging bridge at the top of the mountains, where there are awesome views of the valley.

After enjoying these peaceful moments, we will continue riding all the way down to Teotitlán del Valle. We will arrive at the home of Josefina and Porfirio, where they will share with us a delicious lunch. Their textile workshop is adjacent to their home, where they will show us the interesting techniques they use to create the beautiful rugs that this vibrant town is known for.

We will then go back to Oaxaca. There is no doubt that this will be a highlight of your trip.
