Guided Walk: 5 km / Fitness level: Easy / Group Size: Up to 8 people
WHAT YOU’LL DO
We are leaving the city at 8 am to start our day with a coffee or tea. After that we are getting into nature, visiting the agave fields of the Central Valleys of Oaxaca. We will appreciate cultivated and wild agaves.
It is an experience just to be there. A magnificent view of the petrified waterfalls and the possibility to swim at a gorgeous cavernous waterfall (unique spot).
Later on, we visit a mezcal distillery in San Baltazar Guelavila, an authentic demonstration of how mezcal is part of the culture in Oaxaca, hosted by really interesting people: Cosme, Daniel y Melchor.
Our next stop is in San Luis del Río, where we are meeting Rey Arellano and his beautiful distillery where mezcal Donají is handmade with love in a clay pot. An ancestral process.
In the end, we go through Matatlán, so you can see an entire village dedicated to mezcal industry. But our last stop -previous to the sunset- would be: GAD. Hosted by Óscar Hernández, maestro mezcalero of Gracias a Dios Mezcal. A different way to manage the spirits in the region. We are sharing a local meal in the Mezcal distillery* (one of our favourite thing).
Adults (18 +): $2,510 MXN
