WHAT YOU’LL DO

We meet at 8:00 AM in Macedonio Alcalá 802, Centro, Oaxaca de Juárez, Oaxaca, ring the bell ‘’A’’, between Bicibella and Café Punto Paz.

 The idea is to get early to the mountains… this is a non touristic destination in spite of this forest is stunning.

We will drive 1:30 hours to Cuajimoloyas, one of the Pueblos Mancomunados to drink a healthy and energetic breakfast: coffee, tea or chocolate and more. This is a great opportunity to see the complexity of Oaxacan society and compare the rural lifestyle with the one from Oaxaca City. A completely different weather, ecosystem and communitarian organisation.

We start our ride at 3,100 masl with a stunning view of the village between the clouds and the pine trees. We go slowly deep into the forest to explore the mushroom, trees, ferns, fruits, it is simply a remote day in the middle of the Sierra Norte.

The 10 km bike ride happens on dirt roads (90%) and single tracks (10%). We highly recommend wearing appropriate gear for an outdoor sport. In the end a local family will host us to share a traditional oaxacan meal.
