Mazunte & Ventanilla: Sunset & Sea Life Experience

Discover the soul of oaxaca’s coast in one immersive experience

2 Days / 1 Night – Sunsets, Sea Life & Community Experience

Guided Experience / Fitness level: Easy to Moderate / Small Group Experience

Slow Down on the Pacific Coast

Travel to the heart of Oaxaca’s Pacific coast and immerse yourself in a journey shaped by the ocean, wildlife, and community.

Discover Mazunte, one of Oaxaca’s most iconic coastal towns, where life moves at the rhythm of the waves and sunsets paint the sky in deep, unforgettable colors.

Explore La Ventanilla, a community-protected natural sanctuary where mangroves, crocodiles, turtles, and birds coexist in delicate balance.

This experience is not about rushing through destinations.
It’s about pausing, breathing, and reconnecting — with nature, with people, and with a simpler way of being.

More than a beach getaway, this experience invites you to slow down and experience Oaxaca’s Pacific coast through nature, community, and connection.

Over the course of two days, you’ll move between ocean sunrises, coastal wildlife, mangrove ecosystems, and small seaside communities that continue protecting the natural rhythms of the coast.

From watching the sunset at Punta Cometa to navigating the lagoon of La Ventanilla alongside local guides, every part of the journey is designed to create a more conscious and meaningful way of traveling.

THE EXPERIENCE

WELCOME TO OAXACA’S PACIFIC COAST

Our journey begins as we leave Oaxaca City behind and travel toward the Pacific, crossing mountains, forests, and changing landscapes until the air becomes warmer and the rhythm of the coast slowly takes over.

Mazunte welcomes us with ocean breeze, quiet streets, and a way of life deeply connected to the sea.

Rather than rushing through destinations, this experience invites travelers to slow down and experience the coast through presence, community, wildlife, and connection.

From sunsets at Punta Cometa to early mornings surrounded by marine life, every moment is designed to feel intentional, grounded, and human.

OCEAN LIFE

The Pacific coast of Oaxaca is home to an incredible diversity of marine life.

Depending on the season, dolphins, whales, sea turtles, rays, and tropical fish can be seen moving through these waters alongside local fishing boats and coastal communities that have lived in relationship with the ocean for generations.

Our ocean experience takes place early in the morning, when the sea feels calm, alive, and deeply connected to the natural rhythm of the coast.

More than an activity, it becomes a moment of observation, respect, and connection with the living ocean.

SUNSET AT PUNTA COMETA

As the afternoon light softens, we walk toward Punta Cometa, one of the most iconic viewpoints along Oaxaca’s Pacific coast.

Surrounded by cliffs, ocean breeze, and endless horizon, this is a place where people naturally slow down.

Watching the sunset here is not only about the view.
It’s about ending the day with stillness, conversation, silence, and the feeling of being fully present beside the ocean.

LA  VENTANILLA

La Ventanilla is a community-led conservation project where local families have worked for years to protect mangroves, lagoons, wildlife, and coastal ecosystems.

Together with community guides, we navigate through the lagoon while learning about crocodiles, birds, turtles, and the delicate balance required to preserve this territory.

This experience allows travelers to understand the coast not only as a beautiful destination, but as a living ecosystem cared for collectively.

 SLOW COASTAL LIVING

Between experiences, there is time to simply exist alongside the ocean.

Time to swim, rest under the shade of palms, walk barefoot through town, share fresh meals by the sea, or listen to the sound of the waves at night.

Mazunte moves slowly.
And part of the experience is allowing yourself to move slowly too.
