Rock Climbing at San Sebastián Tutla
Guided Hike: 5 km / Fitness level: Intermediate / Group Size: Up to 8 people
WHAT YOU’LL DO
We’ll begin our tour bright and early at the Coyote Aventuras Office where you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy a little coffee and refreshments. Once we are ready for our adventure we will drive 20 minutes out to San Sebastián to begin our easy approach up to the climbing area. Here you will be able to test your climbing abilities on beautiful rhyolite rock formations with a wide range of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level sport climbing routes.
Once we have reviewed all of the safety procedures and checked our equipment we’ll get started climbing! You will be awarded some gorgeous views of the Central Valley and Sierra Norte regions on top of these pristine climbing routes.
After our first couple climbs we’ll take a little rest for some organic fruit and our world famous trail mix. Following our break, we’ll select some additional routes to try at a different area of the crag to give you some unique perspectives of the valley. Now that you are warmed up and ready, this is a perfect time to challenge yourself on some of San Sebastián’s intermediate routes.
Appreciate some of San Sebastián’s crimps, pockets, and textured footholds that will test your climbing technique. Once you’ve had your fill, we will collect the equipment and head out to a local community for a traditional lunch. Around 4:00 in the afternoon we will begin our trip back to Oaxaca City where you will be dropped off at the Coyote Aventuras office after an action-packed adventure!
Outdoor activities carry risks, and you may be exposed to dangerous situations as part of this experience. Make sure you can participate safely given your abilities and the conditions (such as location, weather, and equipment).
